Children from Al Malkiya village were treated yesterday morning to a fun-day out near the coastal areas at a festival organised by the Malkiya Rovers in association with other clubs and non-governmental organisations from around the country.
The youngsters were involved in a variety of entertainment, recreational and sporting activities by the beach side situated adjacent to the Hamad Town round about number 13.
The days events featured numerous games and painting contests for the young ones, which continued until the afternoon.
In addition, the Environment Electronic Friends (EEF) also took part in the festival with their own environment station offering environment awareness and contests related to the same subject. The kids were offered tips on the re-use and re-cycle of goods.
"The more we involve ourselves in festivals and public gatherings, we discover that the number of people interested in knowing about the group increases. Even though we were not able to demonstrate to them our online facilities due to lack of electricity supply, Eef managed to get the message through, that is the safety of the enironment," said Eef President, Khawla Muhannadi.
In addition, the results of the cycling race organised by the Rovers in association with the Bahrain Cycling Association concurrently with its fun-day activities, were as follows:
In the first age group of 14 to 16 years old, securing first place was Jamal Abdulnabi Ahmed, second was Fadhel Abdullah and third, Ali Yousuf. 
Whereas securing top slot in the second age group of cyclists aging 12 and 13 years old, was Mirza Asghar Mansoor, second was Ahmed Mohammed and third Jassim Saleh.
Some 35 youngsters took part in the race.
The winners were presented with their trophies and medals by the Vice President of the BCA Executive Board, Abdulhakeem Al Mutawa. Earlier the Malkiya Rovers had partcipated in a similar event but on a larger scale, the 30th Scout Camp, organised by the Ministry of Education.
